Sat., May 4.  TOM CULVER, supported by the Karen Hernandez Trio.  For those for whom lyrics, melody, tonality, rhythm, and interesting harmonic progressions are the most important elements of musical production, Tom Culver’s shows provide veritable Master Classes in how music geniuses of the last century brought these five elements together to create the yet-to-be-surpassed mid-20^th-Century  Great American Songbook.  As an added bonus at this show, Mr. Culver introduces his new book, scheduled for release in June:  They Did It With Their Clothes On, a look behind the curtain at the wardrobe/costuming trade supporting the Hollywood entertainment industry during its most fascinating era.
