JOHN VANCE

Sat., Oct. 19.  JOHN VANCE, in “Mostly Jobim:  A Celebration of Brazilian Jazz,”  with musical direction provided by Jeff Colella.  In addition to works by Antonio Carlos Jobim, this show also features works by Luis Bonfa, Sergio Mendes, Dori Caymmi, and Marcos Valle.  Many will also recognize Mr. Vance as a TV actor, (Hacks, New Girl, Two and a Half Men, Malcolm in the Middle, The New Normal, and Passions, to name a few.  On film he was directed by George Clooney in Leatherheads, in which he had the rare treat of playing a mother and son—in the same scene!

Mr. Vance credits the Gardenia’s Tuesday open mike nights as a springboard for the recordings he produced in the “aughts” with Jeff Colella—It’s all Right With Me and Dreamsville (Erawan Records.)  Currently, their music is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora.   More can be discovered at www.johnvance.com.
